At the Bonnie Brae Nursing Home, Tavistock, Ontario, on Saturday, May 15,1971; Andrew G.H. Monteith formerly of Downie Township and Uniondale, in his 89th year. Beloved husband of the late Edith McLeod and dear father of Edward , Embro; Mrs. Helen Herman, London; Gordon, Thamesford; Melbourne & James, both of Thorndale; Dorothy, Mrs. Harold McDonald, Thorndale; Roy, Uniondale; Oliverne (Mrs. Charles Fuller), Thorndale; Donald, Vancouver; one daughter Elsie, Mrs. Ed Fitzsimmons, predeceased; and one brother Arthur Monteith, R.R. 2, Stratford. Thirty grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren survive.

The funeral service was held from the L.A. Ball Funeral Chapel in St. Marys on Monday, May 17, 1971 at 2:00 p.m. with interment in Vining's Cemetery.
