      In Hope, British Columbia, on Friday, December 17, 2004. Aileen (Monteith) Thorpe, in her 90th year, dear wife of the late Reginald W. Thorpe. Dearly loved mother of Shirley Fowler and her husband Richard of Lacombe, Alberta, Bob Thorpe and his wife Carol of St. Thomas, Marilyn Queen and her husband Bill of Aurora, Donna Hodgins and her husband Charles of Hope, B.C.. Brenda Hodgins and her husband Bill of Lacombe, Alberta, and the late Ron Thorpe of St. Thomas. Sister of Ray Monteith of St. Thomas, Don Monteith of Wallacetown, the late Ernest Monteith of Cottam, the late Bill Monteith and Leo Monteith of St. Thomas. Aileen is also survived by her sister-in-law Winnie Mills of St. Thomas and a large number of grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

      Born in St. Thomas, August 24, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Monteith and Jane Ena (Monteith) Monteith, Aileen has worked as a Nurses Aid at the St. Thomas Psychiatric Hospital for about 16 years, and had taken in people from “Homes for Special Care” for a number of years. She had been an active member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Cremation took place in British Columbia. A memorial service will be held at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 380 Manor Road, St. Thomas, Wednesday, December 29, 2004, at 11 a.m. Arrangements made through the R.E. Allen Funeral Chapel, St. Thomas.
