14th Annual Monteith Picnic

Invitation:

All descendants of the late John Nelson Monteith and Annie Young are invited to attend this annual event. 

Although it was our original plan to celebrate the 100th birthday of Uncle Eddie (eldest son of Andrew & Edith) and Aunt Mary, I discovered last week that Fraser (their eldest son) & his wife Mary, had planned a trip to British Columbia to visit with sister Gayle and her husband, Jim. Because we would want Fraser & Gayle to be present for the tribute to their parents, it was decided to postpone that celebration until 2010! 

In the meantime, I suggest that we change this year's focus instead to "Memories of Past Reunions." I have some photos and accounts of Monteith Reunions dating back to 1926 at Springbank Park in London. Over the years, I'm sure that others have taken snapshots that are a part of their personal albums and I would ask that they be brought along to be shared with the rest of the clan. 

Any interesting newpaper articles dealing with family gatherings etc., would also be appreciated! 

A committee has been selected to plan the agenda for this special event in the form of a Picnic on September 13th at the Granton Community Park in Granton.

Be sure to talk this event up with everybody in your family as we are hoping for this year's attendance to again surpass one hundred!
